being missional during covid-19

What does it mean to “be Missional” during the coronavirus pandemic?

What does it mean to “be Missional” during the coronavirus pandemic? While we can’t physically reach out to people as usual, we can give our time, our talents, and our finances to those in need, and the need is tremendous! Take an hour or two to think and pray about how God might use you to touch others during these next few weeks. Here are some ideas.

  • Give to a food shelf in your area, or volunteer to help transport and stock food.

  • Call or text a friend that might be higher risk or isolated on a regular basis.

  • Offer to buy groceries (if you are low risk), for someone you know that is higher risk.

  • Give away your federal stimulus check to others, if you are stable financially.

  • Thank and affirm and offer to pray for the store workers, when you go out shopping.

  • Write out encouraging chalk messages on your sidewalk or driveway for people passing by.

  • Pray for that friend or family member who is far from God, asking for a chance to share his love.

  • Buy some gift certificates from local merchants whose businesses are struggling.

  • Ask your neighbors for any needs that they might have, and give to them as appropriate.

  • Reach out to one of our missionaries with an encouraging note or gift, and pray for them.

  • Ask God to show you other ways that you can reach out in Jesus name.
