AUDIO-VISUAL team

The AV Team helps facilitate congregational worship, prayer, and teaching through the use of technical skills in audio, video, and lighting.

service opportunities

Minimum commitment for any position: Volunteer for a Sunday or midweek service once every five weeks.
Every new volunteer starts with Sunday morning training sessions alongside established volunteers for the position they want to learn (this is also a good chance to see if the position is a good fit). Training continues until both the new volunteer and the tech director are confident in the skills of the new volunteer.

FRONT-OF-HOUSE audio

  • Service commitment: Arrive two hours prior to the service for setup and music rehearsal, run equipment during the service, and stay after the service to put away and tidy equipment.

  • Works closely with the music team, broadcast audio volunteer, and other service leaders to appropriately adjust audio for the needs of the service.

  • Volunteers must be attentive and detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to return communication in a timely manner. Experience in audio technologies or music is a plus but not required.

BROADCAST audio

  • Service commitment: Arrive 1.5 hours prior to the service for setup and music rehearsal, run equipment during the service, and stay after the service to put away and tidy equipment.

  • Works closely with the Front-of-House Audio volunteer to coordinate needs. Continuously monitors the stream and adjusts the mix for the online congregation.

  • Volunteers must be attentive and detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to return communication in a timely manner. Experience in audio technologies or music is a plus but not required.

VISUAL PRESENTATION

  • Service commitment: Arrive one hour prior to the service for setup and rehearsal, run equipment during the service, and stay after the service to put away and tidy equipment.

  • Works closely with the music team and other service leaders to understand the timing of presentation elements. Remains attentive during the service to display media at appropriate times.

  • Volunteers must be attentive and detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to return communication in a timely manner. Experience in computer presentations, typing, or video is a plus but not required.

Camera AND BROADCAST Operator

  • Service commitment: Arrive one hour prior to the service for setup and rehearsal, run equipment during the service, and stay after the service to put away and tidy equipment.

  • Works closely with the service leaders to understand the timing of and transitions between service elements. Remains attentive during the service to execute timely camera switching for flow and variety.

  • Volunteers must be attentive and detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to return communication in a timely manner. Experience in event recording or video production is a plus but not required.

Creative Visual Content Producer

An ideal volunteer should be comfortable with one or more of the following:

  • Designing bold and eye-catching graphics for the digital promotion of events and other church functions and messages.

  • Designing and updating templates for the display of worship lyrics, sermon notes, presentations and scripture references.

  • Creating and animating video backgrounds and textures for worship lyrics, sermon notes, presentations and scripture references.

  • Producing short video content to augment services and church functions.
