If you have any additional questions, please contact our VBS Director, Ashley Silker, ashley@sojourncampuschurch.org.

+ WHERE DO I GO TO CHECK-IN WHEN I ARRIVE WITH MY CHILD?

We will begin checking children in 15 minutes before the start of VBS each day. When the front doors open, you may check-in with Guest Services, then take your child to their designated seating area in the sanctuary to your child’s group leader.

+ DO I COME INSIDE EACH TIME TO PICK UP MY CHILD?

Yes. You must come to pick your child up in their small group area in the worship center by the end of Fixer Upper each day/evening. You must present your child’s claim ticket to their small group leader. You will then need to show your claim ticket AGAIN at the exit doors, so please keep your ticket with you. If you have designated someone else to pick up your child, they will need to have your child’s ticket. Pictures of tickets on smartphones will NOT be accepted. Each day a new unique claim ticket will be issued upon check-in.

+ WILL CHILDCARE BE PROVIDED BEFORE OR AFTER FIXER UPPER?

No, childcare will not be provided before or after VBS. Please be prompt when picking up or dropping off your child.

+ WILL SNACKS BE SERVED DURING FIXER UPPER?

Yes. Snacks will be served each day. A meal is provided at 5:30pm. If your child has a food allergy, please make sure to make to note on their registration form and notify their Small Group Leader when you check your child in each day.

+ MY CHILD HAS A FOOD ALLERGY. WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

During registration, you will be given the option to indicate that your child has a food allergy. We want to support your family with excellence at Fixer Upper by providing allergy-safe foods for your child. We do our best to make sure all snacks are allergy-safe. If something is questionable, we will always have alternate snacks available (Lays Potato Chips, dye-free fruit snacks, etc.). If you would like to send a special snack for your child because of allergies, you may give it to their Small Group Leader each evening.

+ MY CHILD HAS AN EPIPEN. HOW SHOULD WE SEND IT TO FIXER UPPER?

Please send your child’s EpiPen in a plastic zip-top bag with their first and last name and allergen written on it. You will need to check your EpiPen in with the nurse each day of Fixer Upper. Please also notify your child’s Small Group Leader that an EpiPen has been dropped off.

+ MY CHILD HAS A RESCUE INHALER. HOW SHOULD WE SEND IT TO FIXER UPPER?

Please send your child’s rescue inhaler (and spacer, if needed) in a plastic zip-top bag with their first and last name written on it. You will need to check your inhaler in with the Dream Team each day of VBS. Please also notify your child’s Small Group Leader that an inhaler has been dropped off.

+ WILL YOU BE ABLE TO ADMINISTER ANY MEDICATION TO MY CHILD DURING FIXER UPPER?

We can administer EpiPen or a rescue inhaler because these are life-saving medications. Unfortunately, we will not be able to administer any over-the-counter or prescription medications during VBS.

+ MY CHILD NEEDS SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS DURING FIXER UPPER. WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR THEM?

At Sojourn Campus Church, we are honored to provide an environment where families with special needs can grow deeper in their relationship with God. We have a growing community of families with special needs that worship and gather together on a regular basis here at Sojourn Campus Church. Our desire is for these families and children to be able to experience the fun at Fixer Upper. Please contact the VBS Director for more information.

values that guide our sunday service

structure

Structure is not the antithesis of Spirit-led worship, but rather the two go hand-in-hand. Structure helps provide consistency and a safe environment that helps people engage with God in worship. However, we break outside of the structure as the Spirit leads and as is appropriate for our corporate time of worship.

when we worship

We are transformed as we gaze upon the glory of the Lord (2 Cor. 3:18).   We acquire God’s heart. We welcome God’s presence into our city, paving the way for the Gospel to go forth, accompanied by the power of God, furthering the rule and reign of His kingdom.

unity

Our worship leaders aim to lead the congregation in a unified direction under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We encourage spontaneous songs that are meant for the whole congregation to be led by our worship leaders. This serves to reduce confusion and to help the entire congregation remain engaged throughout the worship time.

expressions of worship

Worship is a very individual experience. We seek to grow in a worship experience together where there is genuine encounter with the Holy Spirit, and structured and facilitated for the security and benefit of those less familiar with the moving of the Holy Spirit. We value graciousness toward each other’s differences!

authenticity

We seek to foster an environment where people are able to express their passion in worship. Worship is not forced or contrived but becomes our natural response to God’s revelation of Himself to us. There is room in the back of the sanctuary for expressions of worship that require more space than our seating area can accommodate.

spirit led worship

We believe God’s Spirit is actively moving in our midst every time we gather for worship, and we seek to give Him room to lead our corporate worship times. In our times of worship, we express our heart cry as well as minister God’s word for the moment through prayer or spontaneous song. Frequently toward the end of sung worship, we will pause to give room for prayer, prophetic gifts, and Scripture.
